Forrest Gump

If you haven't seen or at least heard of the movie "Forrest Gump", you must be living under a rock. It is one of the most famous movies ever made. It stars Tom Hanks as the main character, and was directed by Robert Zemeckis. Tom Hanks plays the role of Forrest Gump. The story starts by showing him sitting on a street bench offering to somebody to the person next to him. He starts his life story as a child, living in Alabama, with a very low IQ. He lives with his mother who is a very supportive figure in his life. He only has one friend all through elementary to high school, Jenny. They love each other, but it seems fate has them always set on different paths. Forrest gets to go to college with a football scholarship. After he graduates he joins the military and fights in the Vietnam War. He was given a medal for his services, and got to meet the president. He goes on, randomly meeting Jenny at different times in his life. He goes on and does much more. This simple man fo...

As we are all waiting for the holidays, counting down the days, Iā€™m sure that many of you have some things that you want in mind. I know that I have some things in mind. I wish that I could say that EVERYTHING that I wanted is something that money won't buy, and some of them are but, I do want ( or need in my opinion) somethings that will take money. As you may know I love board games, especially strategy board games. I would love to get more board games and expand my knowledge.                                                                                                                                                ...

Perseverance

How far will you go to accomplish your goals and dreams. Most people will say that they go as far as possible, but is this really true. While trying to accomplish things in your life we will all face things that may seem impossible. We will feel like everyone in the world is only trying to make you give up. I think that you should never give up unless you are proud of what you have done. Persevere as far as you can, and who knows, maybe you will become the next Albert einstein.

What Am I Grateful For?

As Thanksgiving slowly approaches, I'm sitting here on my bed thinking, about a question that most people really only think about once a year. What am I grateful for? We all have something to be grateful for, no matter how horrible you think things are. The fact that you are able to read this blog means you have a electrionic decive that can connect to the internet. Many poeple don't even have that. I thought of making a list of things that I'm grateful for, so that some of you may relize what you have, and how lucky you are to have it. I am grateful for my family, for allways being there for me and supporting me.   I am gratefull for my health, to be able to run and eat all sorts of food. I am gratefull for, my teachers, who teach me not only the subject but also how to live life. I am gratefull for, my home, a place that I can always come to. I am gratefull for books, a source of knowledge and entertainment.  I am gratefull for the food I get, to nourish me...

What Do you Binge?

Is there anything  that you absolutely love; a series of movies a TV school or a nice book series? Are you biting your nails till you run out waiting for the next part to come out? I know I do. A few years ago as I walked down a library hallway, devastated that I could not find a decent book to read after searching for a week, I saw out the corner of my eye, a nice blue lighting cover, for a book that I had never seen before. I stopped abruptly and picked up the book."Michael Vey", I read. It seemed like a really weird book at first glance, but I was desperate for something to read, so I took it anyway. It was one of the greatest decisions that I had ever made. By the time that I had gotten home, I was already done with half of the book. Ever since then I had waited for so long to for the next book to come out. I had counted down the last days till the last book came out. I was devastated when I was not able to buy the day it came out. No library had it yet so I guessed that ...

Who am I?

I just finished the book "The Outsiders". It was a great stand alone novel about a poor boy, Ponyboy, and his life. His parents died when he was young and he now lives with his two loving brothers. Bother are older than him, Sodapop is 17 and is like a best friend to him. Darry is also one of his brothers. He is the oldest and he is very responsible. I think that I am mostly like Darry. I am the oldest of 3 siblings, and just like Darry I help them out in what ever way that I can.

My Favorite Book Series

What was your favorite book? Is it part of a series? Do you like to read single books or books that are apart of a series. Personally I love books from a series, because they create a larger story. The Characters of a series are much more evolved than characters of a single book because their is a lot more reason and space to talk about the character. The story line is also more detailed and much larger. Also most series put everything that happen in previous book the the final book which makes it extremely interesting to read. My favorite series is the "Micheal Vey" series. I am still wait for the final book to come out. Of course I still like some single books, I highly recommend the book "Nightfall" It's a great book for all sorts of readers.

My Future

When you ask most people about their future they will say that they are going to be a billionaire. Of course I want this ,but I in the "rare situation" that this does not happen I have a backup plan. I am already learning how to code several languages and I really like it. I am sure I will become some sort of a software engineer. I will away form Illinois  to find work. I want to have a family and live in the suburbs after a while.

My Identity

My name is Philip. I go to Golf Middle school, and I'm in 8th grade. I like to read and play basketball in my free time. I play in some leagues and I also play with my brother. If I am ever boared the first thing that I always do is read I book. I love to read. My family and freinds are very important to me. They are what make me, me.

A Toy From Our Childhood

Did you ever have a toy that you were obsessed with? I did, it was a fishing game, and I loved it. Many of us have had toys that we can not live without, but it may suprise you that their are some kids who grew up without any toys at all. My Mom grew up in India and she did not really have much to play with, but that did not stop her from having fun. She lived very close to family and she had alot of cousins, and I mean alot. They would always visit and play together. My Mom had a big backyard which they used as farmland. They all played their having so much more fun than any toy could ever possibly bring. Her childhood really shows that we don't need all sorts of extravagant toys to have fun. We can all have fun by spending some time with family and friends

Board Games

Image
Board Games are not boring. Who ever says this just haven't played a good board game. I really like board games because they, help pass the time especially on a slow day. Yes, I know, many board games take several hour if you pay them traditionally, but I always play with house rules. They only base of the original rules, and it like they make games way more fun.  Here are some bored games that I love...

Quotes

"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." George Bernard Shaw I really like this quote, because I think that it is very true. Many people are saying that they don't know themselves, but needto create what they what to be. This quotes say that we can create our selves. So the next time someone says that you can't do something just remember this quote.   "A new broom sweeps clean but an old broom knows the corners." Virgin Islander (on friendship)  I think that this quote is really true because I think that experience outweighs new. Many people want new things, but many time they take what they already have for granted. One of the reasons people who stay at a company longer get better thing, the company wants them for the experience that they have.  "Regrets only apply when we don't learn from a situation. No sense looking back, look forward with new knowledge and no regret." Catherine Pulsifer ...
